VIM is a volunteer-powered healthcare center with free primary medical care, restorative dental care, behavioral health counseling, optometry (including glasses), nutritional counseling, acupuncture, and therapeutic massage services for income qualified, uninsured and underinsured adults in the Berkshire region. Most of our patients are from working families who are unable to afford or access medical care. So, before their poor health leads to an emergency room visit or several, VIM intervenes early and provides a ''medical home'' for nearly 1,000 persons per year. We welcome qualified patients (at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level) and have interpreters available.
Our free care keeps thousands of people working in physically demanding jobs in and around the Berkshires. Since its founding, VIM has provided care for over 8,000 of our neighbors, including some from neighboring communities in NY and CT.
We welcome volunteer medical professionals -- especially dentists -- who are retired or in-practice and who want to make a difference in our community. We also welcome volunteer interpreters, drivers, receptionists, and special project assistants.
VIM is grateful to our generous donors who fund 100% of our day-to-day operations, approximately $1M per year. For more information or a tour, please contact us.
